What this site is

The content on this site — including pricing and service descriptions — is provided for general information. It reflects our honest professional views, but it isn't advice for your specific situation, and reading it doesn't by itself create a business relationship between us.

The site may offer a live demo — an in-browser web call or a demo phone line that connects you to a sample receptionist. Demo calls may be recorded and transcribed for quality review, they don't create a service engagement, and they aren't the place for sensitive information.

The service

The Carbon Copy Receptionist is an AI phone answering service configured for your business: it answers calls on a dedicated phone number, takes messages, books appointments into a calendar you connect, and sends you transcripts and summaries of the calls it handles.

Calls handled by the receptionist may be recorded and transcribed in order to deliver your messages, monitor quality, and correct mistakes. Where the law requires that callers be informed of recording, responsibility for the required disclosure is allocated in your service setup; if you are unsure what applies in your state, ask before going live.

Fail-safe behavior: the service works by call forwarding that you control from your own phone. If the service is unavailable, calls simply ring your phones the way they did before you subscribed. We never port, own, or take control of your phone number or carrier account.

The receptionist is not an emergency answering service. It must not be relied on for 911, life-safety, or other emergency communications, and callers with emergencies should always be directed to dial 911.

Free trial

Starting a trial doesn't require a payment method. You answer questions about your business, we build your CCR on your answers, and you can call it yourself — in your browser or our mobile app — to hear how it handles a test call before you owe us anything.

The trial gives you 7 days from signup and 30 minutes of test-call time to do that, whichever runs out first. No charge occurs during the trial, and none occurs after it ends unless you choose to subscribe — there is no card on file for us to charge.

When the trial period or the test-call minutes run out, your CCR stays exactly as built — nothing is deleted or reset — but test calls stop until you subscribe. The paid service, including the phone number your callers reach, begins when you subscribe.

Pricing and billing

The service is $99 a month, billed monthly from the date you subscribe, month-to-month. Each month includes 300 minutes of the receptionist's call time; if it goes past that, the receptionist keeps answering — there is no cutoff — and the additional minutes bill at $0.50 a minute on the same invoice. There is no setup fee and no term contract. The price shown on this site is accurate as of the effective date; if it changes, existing subscribers get advance notice before any change applies to them.

Cancellation

Cancel anytime from the billing page in your account — no cancellation call, no retention process. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and forwarding can be turned off from your own phone at any moment before that.

On request at or after cancellation, we provide an export of your data — transcripts, recordings, and configuration — and then delete it, per the privacy policy.

Text-message notifications

If you opt in, we send you — the subscriber — a text message summarizing each call the receptionist answers for your business. Consent is given directly to Carbon Copy Development through an unchecked-by-default box you check yourself during account setup or in your dashboard settings; agreeing to these terms is not consent to receive texts, and subscribing to the service does not require it.

Message frequency varies with your call volume (one message per answered call). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately, or HELP for help; you can also turn texts off in your dashboard settings at any time. Opting out does not affect your service — summaries continue by email.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number, your opt-in data, or your messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. How we handle your number and consent is described in the privacy policy at carboncopydevelopment.com/privacy.

Intellectual property

The content, brand, and design of this site belong to Carbon Copy Development. You're welcome to quote or share excerpts with attribution and a link. Don't republish whole pages or pass our material off as your own.

No warranties; limitation of liability

This website and the service are provided as-is. We work hard to keep both accurate and available, but we don't warrant that they will be error-free or uninterrupted — an AI receptionist can mishandle a call, and the fail-safe design above is the remedy we engineer for. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the site or the service is limited to the fees you paid in the month the claim arose.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Carbon Copy Development is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
